To all our volunteers
Apr 20th
Dear Girls on the Run of Greater Milwaukee volunteers,
Established in 1974, National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. It’s about demonstrating to the nation that by working together, in unison, we have the fortitude to meet our challenges and accomplish our goals. National Volunteer Week is about taking action, encouraging individuals and their respective communities to be at the center of social change – discovering and actively demonstrating their collective power to foster positive transformation.
Each of you, as a volunteer, play a pivotal role in lives of the girls that we are educating and empowering. Whether it be as a volunteer at one of our events, a Coach, a Running Buddy, or serving on one of our Committees – it is because of you that Girls on the Run of Greater Milwaukee and Girls on the Run overall continues to move forward. For that we THANK YOU and appreciate all that you do!

Spring Season is Under Way
Apr 16th
We are off and running for the 2012 Spring Season. We have 12 sites this spring and a lot of excited girls. We wouldn’t have done it without all the support we have gotten this winter/spring from everyone who donated, attended or volunteered at Running for a Reason in February, from Jim Mclure and Zak’s Cafe and the North Shore Junior Women’s Club. Thank you!
Save the Date!
Mar 6th
Save the date for our Brewers Tailgate Party on Friday, June 8th, starting at 4:00pm!
Become a Running Buddy
Mar 6th
Partner with an incredible girl from one of our school or community programs, then run the Laura’s Smile Mile 5k with her. Your participation will encourage and cheer her on, and you’ll share in her excitement along the way! You will recognize your buddy’s limits and support her to achieve her goals; you will be inspired and have the time of your life.
Running buddies need to attend one practice, either April 23rd or May 20th, to run with the girls. The May date is preferred as it is the pre-race practice. Buddies will then run with their girls at the Laura’s Smile Mile 5K on June 2nd.
Please go to Volunteers for more information and contact.
